Flow State. The Secret to Greatness?

I live for that flow state when I am making art. It’s when I feel happy, exhilarated, and at peace all at the same time. For me when I get into the flow state it’s as if I am peaking into the center of the universe.

I have a lot to talk about with that. But that’s a story for another time.

I use to push myself as hard as I could when making art trying to force out masterpieces. But making things too hard for myself isn’t the secret to greatness. I think instead it’s searching for the flow state. Finding the optimal balance between ease and challenge where inspiration can freely flow from me.

Now I’m trying to focus on the enjoyment of the process of making art.  I actually think that may be the secret to greatness. It certainly makes them go out the door faster.
