PAINTING WET INTO WET
This week I’m feeling a lot more comfortable using color in the limited palette.
The weather was changing between sunny and cloudy, which made the model look greyer or more colorful. I’m learning to chase the color and so my color mixtures on my palette change daily.
In my figure painting, I’m really pushing towards showing the longest forms that I can. It’s tempting to keep breaking up the figure and showing all the anatomy detail, but it’s also important to show the big forms that those details live in.
This week my cast painting has been all about introducing the lights and trying to get the painting as bright as it can go. On Friday, I experimented with extreme wet into wet. It was terrifying, exciting, and so much fun!
